Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 October 2026

The short version: your photos never leave your device. FaceDuel has no accounts, sets no cookies, and currently runs no ads or analytics.

Your photos

  • Photos you choose are opened and analysed only inside your browser, on your device. They are never uploaded to FaceDuel, to our hosting provider, or to any AI service.
  • They are kept only in your browser's memory while you play, and are cleared when you start a new duel, reset, or close the page. We never save them to your device's storage.
  • iPhone (HEIC) photos are converted to JPEG on your device when needed. This also never involves a server.

Face analysis

  • An AI face model (Google's MediaPipe Face Landmarker) runs in your browser and finds points on each face. These measurements exist only in memory long enough to pick a winner, then they're discarded.
  • FaceDuel does not identify people, recognise faces, create face templates, or store any facial measurements, and we have no access to them.

The result picture and sharing

  • The result picture is created on your device. It leaves your device only if you choose to share or download it.
  • When you share to WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or another app, you send content to that service, and its own privacy policy applies to what you send.
  • Shared links contain only the FaceDuel address (and “?challenge=1”). They never contain your photos, results or personal information.

Information the website handles

  • Hosting. FaceDuel is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any website host, Cloudflare processes technical information needed to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
  • Browser cache. To load faster next time, your browser saves the AI face model and the site's files in its cache. These are the same for every visitor and contain no personal information. You can remove them by clearing your browser's site data.
  • No accounts, no cookies. FaceDuel doesn't ask for your name or email and doesn't set cookies.
  • No ads or analytics today. If we add advertising or visitor statistics in the future, we will update this policy before they go live, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Children

FaceDuel is intended for adults (18+). Don't use photos of children. We don't knowingly collect any information from children; in fact, we don't collect photos or personal information from anyone.

Your rights

Because FaceDuel never receives your photos and doesn't keep personal information about you, there is nothing for us to show, correct or delete. Technical hosting data is handled by Cloudflare under its privacy policy.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the “Last updated” date above.
